Mann Made Media launches the Johannesburg Chapter for the Global Impact Challenge

This year Mann Made Media launched the 2017 Global Impact Challenge at a screening of the documentary film “The University” at the Killarney Mall Cinecentre luxury cinemas. The Cape Town Chapter was hosted by Michael Fichardt a few days earlier during an Open Initiative at Workshop 17.

Mann Made Media Director (MMM), Mic Mann, is the ‘Global Impact Challenge (GIC)’ Johannesburg Chapter Ambassador. This year Mann Made Media is the main event, social, and digital media sponsor. Watching the documentary, hosted by Cinecentre, the JHB Chapter Launch ensured the night was on par with watching a major blockbuster in luxury on the big screen.

The cinema was full with an audience of scientists, executives, environmentalists, educators, banks and big thinkers.

Mic Mann explains “I have been involved with the Singularity Global Impact Challenge for the last two years, even having a chance to visit the The Singularity University based in the NASA Ames Research Center.  The experience has been life changing, I am deeply involved in the start-up and maker community and through our Cape Town and Johannesburg Chapters believe 2017 will be a great year for African innovation and impact.”

“Being involved in a global initiative like this makes me very proud of being part of a project which puts SA at the forefront of global innovation and exponential technologies and solutions.”  Concludes Mann
