Stepping over the line — NATIVE VML named AdFocus 2017 Large Agency of the Year runner up

NATIVE VML has been named runner up in the Annual Adfocus awards as Large Agency of the Year 2017 second to FCB Johannesburg.

“When we started NATIVE seven years ago, it was with the intention of creating a new kind of agency,” says Jason Xenopoulos, CEO and Chief Creative Officer of NATIVE VML. “Being recognized in this way is a validation of our strategy and proof that we have evolved into a truly integrated agency capable of becoming our clients’ most important partner.”

According to David Furlonger, co-editor of Adfocus, five agencies made it onto the large agency shortlist with NATIVE VML taking second place, marking a successful transition from a specialist digital company to a broad brand-communications agency. Organic growth was responsible for much of the agency’s growth last year but the jury liked the fact that the agency retained so many accounts and projects during the period. ”This speaks of good client relationships and an agency that is delivering”, says David Furlonger.

“The AdFocus entry provided evidence for what we have all assumed over the last 18 months – that NATIVE VML is a well-led agency on the rise. It’s fair to say that, on analysing the agency’s performance, as set out in the completed entry questionnaire, some jurors were surprised at the extent of the development and at how effective NATIVE VML has become.”
