Children's Hospital Trust - Election Day Takeover

Brief/Problem/Goals

The Children’s Hospital Trust adopted ‘Leave Your Mark’ as a messaging platform for their communication in March of 2019. To create awareness, we immediately saw an opportunity with the then upcoming South African national elections.

Solution

 

We knew celebrities would be posting their thumbs aka “voting selfies” on Twitter, so we orchestrated a takeover on election day where we filmed endearing ‘thank you’ messages from the children in the hospital and tweeted them when these celebrities posted. They fell in love with the idea and retweeted our content to their large audiences.

We inserted the hospital into the positive and optimistic online sentiment, positioning the hospital as a place of hope.
