Who We Are

Retroviral is an independent, award-winning, communications agency that has made more brands ‘go viral, globally’ than any other agency in Africa. We are the challenger agency for challenger brands and we thrive on delivering thought-provoking work that plays in the realm of discomfort.

Retroviral, opened 13 years ago out of a passion to create a new kind of communications agency. Our Vision is to be the best story-selling (branded storytelling that converts to sales) agency group in Africa. A multi-specialist agency, integrated for the digital age.

We believe that when content connects with a community at an emotional and then rational level, we make an impact on the brand at a commercial level (sales, downloads). This is driven through our strategic approach of Strategy and Insights-led foundations where we deep dive into the data, followed by Content Creation, Earned Media Dissemination, and Quality Reporting.
