WHO WE ARE

Since the beginning of time, story-telling has been synonymous with Africa and her people. From sitting around the blazing fire, enchanted by stories told by village elders to interpreting company brands in the boardroom, Africans have always used story-telling not only as a way of preserving their history but also as a way of communicating their brand messages to their target audience.

Despite being founded in the era of the # (hashtag) we, at Conversations Media and Communications (Conversations), understand the importance of traditional story-telling. This is why we marry the # with traditional PR in formulating our client’s marketing and communication strategies to tell their stories in a unique way that best reflects their values and suits their target audience.

OUR PURPOSE

Conversations is a Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment level 1 contributor. Our purpose for existence is to build strong communities by delivering communications strategies that inspire positive change for our clients and their stakeholders, including the communities in which they operate.

Headquartered in Johannesburg, Conversations has a presence in Cape Town and Durban and through a network of affiliates and partners, we also have a footprint in other African markets including Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria.

Conversations Online

Conversations Online is South Africa’s first mobile application that provides users with an opportunity to interact with newsmakers through live video streaming. The app also plays host to pre-packaged content of different categories that users can access at their convenience. Users unable to follow a live conversation with a newsmaker are able to access the interaction in a recorded format from the applications archive section. Unlike other online interactive platforms, where high profile individuals can use pseudo identities or have their profiles managed on their behalf, the Conversations Online App, delivers an authentic, visual, real time experience between users and newsmakers.For the benefit of newsmakers, the App is enabled with a real time analytics tool that provides sentiment analysis on the engagement, delivering vital audience insights to newsmakers seeking to improve the quality of their communication and messages. The App is free and can be downloaded on any smart phone.

The purpose behind the design of the App is to expand access to quality content at no additional costs than the average data cost that mobile phone and internet users pay. Equally, the App enables newsmakers to broaden their direct audience reach through an unmediated platform which they can access
